BlendEQ
Key Features
- Dual-circuit analog modeling EQ blending two parallel equalizer models: punchy American (A) and smooth British (N) console characters
- Per-band Blend knobs on all four bands, allowing independent mixing of the two EQ circuits across the frequency spectrum
- Line amp blending via the IN knob, simultaneously adjusting gain up to +24 dB while crossfading between the two amp models
- High-pass and low-pass pre-filters positioned before the line amps to feed only the usable frequency range into the saturation stage
- 4x oversampling mode engaged by clicking the Analog Obsession label for cleaner processing at high gain settings
- Resizable interface from 50% to 200% with touchscreen support for flexible workflow on any display
Description
BlendEQ by Analog Obsession is a four-band, dual-circuit analog modeling equalizer that lets you blend two parallel EQ models band by band. Circuit "A" emulates a punchy American console EQ with aggressive transients, while circuit "N" delivers the smoother, silkier character of a British desk.
Each of the four bands has its own Blend knob, so you can dial in punchy low end from the A circuit and silky highs from the N circuit within the same instance. Clicking the BlendEQ label links all Blend knobs to the low band for single-knob control across the entire plugin.
The IN knob simultaneously boosts gain and blends the two line amp models, ranging from the N amp on the left (+24 dB) to the A amp on the right (+24 dB). High-pass and low-pass filters sit before the line amps, feeding only the usable frequency range into the saturation stage.
Clicking the Analog Obsession label engages 4x oversampling for cleaner processing at higher gain settings. The resizable interface scales from 50% to 200% with touchscreen support.
Reddit users frequently cite BlendEQ as a standout among Analog Obsession's catalog, praising its flexibility in combining the two console characters. Bedroom Producers Blog described the concept as clever, noting the ability to blend band by band creates countless tonal possibilities.
BlendEQ runs on macOS (10.11+, Apple Silicon supported) and Windows (10+) in VST3, AU, and AAX formats at 64-bit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What EQ models does BlendEQ emulate?
BlendEQ combines two classic console EQ circuits. The A circuit models a famous American equalizer known for punchy transients and aggressive character, while the N circuit models a famous British equalizer known for smooth, silky highs and blended transients. You can mix between the two on each band independently.
How does the Blend knob work on each band?
Each of the four EQ bands has its own Blend knob that crossfades between the A and N equalizer circuits. Turning it fully to A gives you the punchier American sound, fully to N gives the smoother British character, and anywhere in between blends both circuits in parallel. You can also link all Blend knobs to the low band by clicking the BlendEQ label.
Does BlendEQ support Apple Silicon Macs?
Yes. Analog Obsession updated all EQ plugins including BlendEQ with native Apple Silicon support, AAX format, and resizable UI. It runs on macOS 10.11 and higher with Metal graphics support required.
What does the 4x oversampling mode do in BlendEQ?
Clicking the Analog Obsession label at the top of the interface engages 4x oversampling, which reduces aliasing artifacts when processing at higher gain settings. This is especially useful when driving the line amps hard for more saturation and harmonic color.
