GSat+
Key Features
- Four tube-based character modes (Clean, Warm, Crisp, Classic) for distinct saturation flavors
- Independent Odd and Even harmonics controls for precise tonal shaping from smooth to aggressive
- Built-in clipper section for adding extra distortion and fuzz beyond the tube saturation stage
- 2x and 4x oversampling for higher fidelity analog-style processing with reduced aliasing
- Comprehensive monitoring with VU, Peak, RMS, and EBU metering plus left/right/mid/side soloing
- Fluctuation control that introduces subtle analog-style circuit drift and randomization
- Zero-latency operation when oversampling is disabled, with efficient CPU usage for stacking on multiple tracks
Description
GSat+ by TBProAudio is a tube saturation plugin developed in collaboration with the Gearspace.com community. It is derived from the saturation module in TBProAudio's CS5501V2 channel strip, with additional features suggested by the Gearspace admin team.
The plugin offers four character modes — Clean, Warm, Crisp, and Classic — each producing a distinct tube-based tonal profile. Separate Odd and Even harmonics controls let you shape the saturation from smooth and musical to aggressive and edgy, while the Stages knob sets the overall saturation intensity.
A Fluctuation control introduces subtle analog-style randomization to the signal, adding the kind of circuit drift heard in real tube hardware. The built-in clipper section provides additional distortion or fuzz when driven hard, and 2x or 4x oversampling is available for higher fidelity processing.
The monitoring section includes switchable VU, Peak, RMS, and EBU metering with a calibration control, plus the ability to solo left, right, mid, or side channels. Without oversampling enabled, GSat+ operates at zero latency.
KVR users rate it 5 out of 5 stars, with reviewers comparing its saturation quality to paid plugins like the Black Box Analog Design HG-2. On Plugins4Free, users describe the sound as comparable to what analog hardware produces, with one reviewer stating it could easily be a $100 plugin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the signal path inside GSat+?
The signal flows through Input Trim, then the Saturation stage (with character mode, harmonics, and stages controls), followed by Output Trim, and finally the Clipper. This routing lets you drive the saturation hard while managing levels before and after processing.
What are the differences between the four character modes?
Clean provides transparent saturation with minimal coloration. Warm adds a rounder, thicker tube tone. Crisp emphasizes upper harmonics for presence and bite. Classic delivers a traditional tube saturation curve similar to vintage hardware preamps.
Does GSat+ add latency to my signal chain?
Without oversampling, GSat+ operates at zero latency, making it suitable for real-time tracking and monitoring. Enabling 2x or 4x oversampling adds some latency but improves the accuracy of the saturation algorithm at high frequencies.
How does GSat+ compare to the saturation module in TBProAudio CS5501V2?
GSat+ is derived from the CS5501V2 channel strip's saturation module but includes extra features requested by the Gearspace team, such as the Fluctuation control, additional metering modes, and mid/side monitoring. Users who own CS5501 note that the standalone saturator offers more tweakability.
