Description
move.ment is a sample-based monophonic synthesizer born from a collaboration between Kia, DaHouse Audio, and Brazilian synth designer Arthur Joly. Originally built to create the in-car sounds for the Kia EV6 electric vehicle, the instrument blends eight nature field recordings with a classic subtractive synthesis engine.
The sampler section offers eight environment captures: Wind, Birds, Beach, Geyser, Forest, Water, Thunder, and Night. These recordings exhibit pink noise characteristics, layering organic texture beneath the VCO signal for a sound palette rooted in real-world ambience.
Beyond the nature samples, the synth engine includes a single VCO with four classic waveforms, a resonant low-pass filter, dual ADSR envelopes, a noise generator, and a built-in reverb. A touchpad keyboard controller rounds out the interface, and roughly 100 factory presets ship with the plugin.
The instrument generates interesting layered sounds by blending environmental recordings with electronic synthesis, and it works well as a starting point for ambient pads, evolving textures, and experimental soundscapes. The UI was built with Cabbage, and the synthesis engine runs on Csound under the hood.
Available as VST2, AU, and Standalone for Windows and macOS (64-bit), move.ment weighs in at roughly 90 MB.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does move.ment require Csound to be installed separately?
No. The move.ment installer bundles the Csound runtime it needs, so you do not have to download or configure Csound on your own. The synthesis engine runs on Csound internally, but this is handled transparently during installation.
Can I import my own samples into move.ment?
No, move.ment is limited to its eight built-in nature recordings. You cannot load custom samples. The design is intentionally focused on those specific field recordings and their interaction with the synthesis engine.
Is move.ment polyphonic or monophonic?
move.ment is a monophonic instrument, meaning it plays one note at a time. This makes it better suited for leads, bass lines, and single-voice textural parts rather than full chords or stacked pads.
Is the original Kia download page still available?
The official Kia download page has been taken down, but the installer files remain available through third-party archives and mirror sites. The plugin itself continues to work normally once installed.
