Movementron
Key Features
- 8-step sequenced oscillator with individual waveform shapes, LFOs, and filters per step for evolving tonal patterns
- Drawable oscillator with detune and 8-step filter that also supports WAV sample loading
- Keyboard split functionality to assign each oscillator engine to different MIDI key ranges
- Master effects section with oversampled compressor, filter, delay, and reverb
- Per-step modulation control that creates complex, shifting sequences from simple starting points
- Retro-styled single-screen interface with all parameters accessible without menu diving
- Dual-purpose design works equally well as a performance synthesizer and a sound design tool
Description
Movementron by Flandersh Tech is a step-modulated synthesizer built around the idea of constant sonic evolution. Every element of its architecture is designed to produce sounds that shift and transform over time, from rhythmic sequences to slowly morphing textures.
The synth centers on two oscillator engines with distinct personalities. Osc A is an 8-step sequenced oscillator where each step can have its own waveform shape, LFO, and filter settings, creating patterns that cycle through tonal variations automatically.
Osc B offers a drawable waveform editor with detune and its own 8-step filter. It can also load WAV samples as a sound source, letting you apply step-sequenced modulation to any audio material.
Keyboard split lets you assign each oscillator to different key ranges, effectively running two instruments from a single instance. Both engines feed into a master effects section with an oversampled compressor, filter, delay, and reverb for final polish.
The retro-styled interface uses a distinctive blue color scheme that keeps all controls visible on a single screen. Sound designers will appreciate the depth of per-step control, where even subtle changes to individual step parameters can produce dramatically different results across a sequence.
Movementron is available as a 64-bit VST3 plugin for Windows, with a download size of approximately 5.3 MB. It has been tested with PreSonus Studio One Pro and requires Windows 8.1 or newer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Movementron work on macOS?
No, Movementron is currently available only for Windows (8.1 or newer) as a 64-bit VST3 plugin. There is no macOS or Linux version at this time.
Can Movementron load custom samples?
Yes, Oscillator B includes a loop player mode that can load WAV files as a sound source. The loaded sample passes through the same 8-step filter and detune controls available to the drawable oscillator, letting you apply step-sequenced modulation to any audio material.
What is the difference between the two oscillator modes?
Oscillator A (Seq Osc) is an 8-step sequenced oscillator where each step has its own waveform, LFO, and filter. Oscillator B (FShape Osc) uses a drawable waveform with detune and an 8-step filter, and can also load WAV samples. Both oscillators can be split across different keyboard ranges.
Does Movementron require a lot of CPU?
Movementron is relatively lightweight at only 5.3 MB. The developer recommends a multi-core processor with 8 GB RAM, though the system requirements list a minimum of a modern CPU with 2 GHz processing speed and 4 GB RAM.
