Description
NoizeClick by Sick Noise Instruments is a dedicated kick drum synthesizer built around a single sine-wave oscillator. It takes a synthesis-first approach to kick design, letting you shape every element of the transient and body from scratch rather than relying on samples.
The plugin is divided into three sections: Click Zone, Effects Screen, and Amp Control. The Click Zone contains three independent pitch envelopes (Click 1, Click 2, Click 3) that modulate the sine wave at different frequency ranges, giving you granular control over the attack character and tonal sweep of each kick.
The Effects Screen provides a multi-mode filter with low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-reject options alongside cutoff, resonance, and gain controls. A distortion unit with Drive and Shape parameters adds grit and harmonic content, making it easy to push kicks from clean sub-bass thuds into aggressive hardcore territory.
The Amp section features a full ADSR envelope for shaping the amplitude curve of each kick. Sustain and release controls let you fine-tune the tail length, while an output volume knob manages gain staging.
Originally designed for psytrance production, NoizeClick handles a wide range of electronic kick styles. Its 10 MB footprint and streamlined interface make it a practical addition to any electronic producer's toolkit.
Available as VST3 for Windows and Audio Unit for macOS (10.8 Mountain Lion or later). This version does not include presets, so every kick is built from the ground up.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does NoizeClick come with presets?
No, the current version does not include presets. Every kick drum must be built from scratch using the Click Zone envelopes, filter, and distortion controls. The interface is straightforward enough that creating usable kicks takes only a few minutes.
Can NoizeClick make kicks for genres other than psytrance?
Yes. While it was originally designed with psytrance in mind, the synthesis engine is versatile enough for techno, hardcore, drum and bass, house, and other electronic genres. The distortion unit is especially useful for pushing kicks into harder territory.
What is the Click Zone and how does it work?
The Click Zone is NoizeClick's core sound design section. It contains three independent pitch envelopes (Click 1, Click 2, Click 3) that each modulate the sine-wave oscillator at different frequency ranges. Each envelope has Start, Decay, Curve, and Boost parameters, giving you layered control over the transient click and pitch sweep of the kick.
Is NoizeClick available on macOS?
Yes. NoizeClick is available as an Audio Unit plugin for macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion or later. The Windows version uses the VST3 format.
