Description

Scyclone is an audio plugin that uses neural timbre transfer technology to offer a new approach to audio production.

The plugin builds on RAVE methodology, a real-time audio variational autoencoder, enabling neural timbre transfer in both single and couple inference modes.

This allows a new artificial layering technique to be applied to the incoming signal, creating richer drum palettes, fuller atmospheres, or simply transferring the timbre of the raw signal to another sound palette.

To further control the behavior and production of the neural networks, we have internally equipped the plugin with signal processing modules allowing the user to shape, control, and embellish the source and target timbres in a distinct manner.

Scyclone offers an intuitive signal flow allowing for seamless influence over inference and sound synthesis.

The plugin includes pre-processing modules such as a Transient Controller and Low-/High-Cut Filter to refine the frequency range of input audio.

Additionally, in-built post-processing modules permit further manipulation and formation of the timbre-transferred signal.

We have provided two pre-trained models (presets) accessible under the assets/models directory: Funk Drums and Djembe.

Tips

  • Use the Transient Controller to fine-tune the attack and sustain of your drum loops for a more dynamic sound.
  • Apply the Low-/High-Cut Filter to isolate specific frequency ranges and achieve a cleaner mix.
  • Experiment with the Grain Delay to add unique textures and depth to your tracks.
  • Utilize the Blend feature to seamlessly mix the outputs of different models for a richer sound.
  • Load external ONNX models to expand the sonic possibilities and customize your timbre transfer.
  • Use the X/Y pad to intuitively shape the sound by adjusting the balance between Attack, Sustain, Sharp, and Smooth settings.
  • Combine the Funk Drums and Djembe models to create complex and interesting drum patterns.
