Description
TugSpect is an experimental FX VST plugin developed by Tugrulakyuz that changes images into unique spectral filtering effects.
It uses real-time Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) filtering to analyze incoming audio and apply spectral processing based on the pixel values of the imported image.
Users can import various image files, from abstract art to personal photographs, or draw basic shapes like ellipses, rectangles, and lines.
The plugin offers extensive control over both the image file and the spectral processing, allowing users to rotate, zoom, and adjust the image contrast, similar to a photo editor.
TugSpect also provides synchronization with the DAW clock, ensuring that the effects are applied in sync with the music.
The plugin is designed to work only when the DAW is playing, making it an interactive tool for live sound manipulation.
Tips
- Experiment with different types of images to discover unique spectral effects.
- Use the SmVer and SmHor functions to smooth the image and create subtle variations in the sound.
- Synchronize the plugin with your DAW clock to ensure the effects blend rhythmically with your track.
- Adjust the playback direction and use the attack and decay controls to shape the overall sound.
- Utilize the shift knob to explore different spectral ranges without altering the interval.
- Try drawing basic shapes to isolate specific frequency ranges and create static or dynamic filtering effects.
- Rotate and zoom the image to focus on particular areas and achieve desired sound transformations.
