Description
Wheel Of Fortune is a free Kontakt library by Artvera, built as a tribute to the legendary freeware developer H.G. Fortune (Gunter Hager, 1954-2014). It delivers ambient and atmospheric pads crafted from 130 recorded presets originally made with Fortune's own synthesizers.
Each of the two layers offers 65 unique sound sources, reworked from the original recordings into entirely new textures. Four additional noise-like effects add grit and atmosphere, while a random function shuffles selections between layers for unpredictable results.
Per-layer modulation of LP Cutoff, Volume, and Pan gives precise tonal shaping. The built-in effects chain includes Flanger, Stereo widening, Lo-Fi degradation, Delay, and Reverb for further sculpting.
The library ships with 60 presets (plus one INIT patch) and 134 NCW samples recorded at 24-bit/48kHz. Despite the generous sample count, it is exceptionally light on RAM and CPU, making it practical for producers working on modest hardware.
Wheel Of Fortune is well suited for ambient, cinematic, and electronic music production. It excels at evolving pads, granular textures, and atmospheric soundscapes.
